Toronto, ON – The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman John- year contract extension on Wednesday.
TSN of Canada is reporting the deal is worth $3.875 million per season.
Liles hasn't played for the Maple Leafs since December 22, missing the last 15 games due to a concussion-like symptoms.
The 31-year-old has totaled four goals and 17 assists this season, his first with Toronto, which acquired the American-born blueliner from the Colorado Avalanche last June in exchange for a 2012 second-round draft pick.
Liles, who would have been an unrestricted free agent this summer, has registered 72 goals and 224 assists in 557 career games. He was a fifth-round pick by Colorado in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
