Alkmaar, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - United States international Aron Johannsson scored a first-half brace on Saturday as AZ Alkmaar cruised to a comfortable 4-0 rout of SC Heracles at the AFAS Stadion.

Coming off a 4-0 thrashing of RKC Waalwijk in league play last weekend, Johannsson put the hosts in front after just 16 minutes and quickly completed his double in the 37th minute.

The home side continued to pour it on in the second half as Mattias Johansson scored 11 minutes from time and Viktor Elm completed the rout with a tally in stoppage time.

Despite the convincing performance, AZ Alkmaar remain in seventh place in the Eredivisie, 17 points behind league leaders Ajax Amsterdam, while Heracles remains in 12th place with just 30 points.

Also in the Eredivisie on Saturday, Guus Hupperts scored on either side of the intermission and Marc Hocher added a goal as Roda earned a 3-1 victory over NEC, while Bilal Basacikoglu, Rajiv Van La Parra and Alfred Finnbogason all found the back of the net for Heerenveen in a 3-0 victory over Zwolle.

Jurgen Locadia's 51st-minute tally was enough to see PSV Eindhoven earn a 1-0 victory over FC Utrecht, while Zakaria Labyad and Mike Havenaar scored first- half goals to lead Vitesse to a 2-1 win over NAC.
