NASCAR Hall of Famer and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Darrell Waltrip and veteran FOX NASCAR broadcaster Mike Joy welcomed future FOX NASCAR analyst Jeff Gordon into the booth Friday night to get a little "seat time" in front of the cameras together, as the trio rehearsed their craft during the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Texas.

"Any time you can get seven championships together in the booth, it's special," said FOX Sports President & COO Eric Shanks. "And getting eight championships in the 2016 booth is still a very real and electrifying possibility. ... Friday night, we got a glimpse of the future, and it looks great."

Gordon, who announced he is retiring after the 2015 season, has qualified for the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup finale in Homestead, with his mind set firmly on a fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title. He joins the FOX NASCAR team beginning in Daytona in 2016.
