JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed defensive tackle T.J. Barnes off waivers from Buffalo. To make room for Barnes on the 90-man roster, the team waived/injured running back Jonas Gray (quad).

The 6-foot-7, 364-pound Barnes gives the Jaguars some much-needed depth on the defensive line, especially since they are holding joint practices with Tampa Bay. The Jags are without rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Day (back) and second-year pro Michael Bennett (hip).

Barnes was originally signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2013. He has since spent time with the New York Jets (practice squad) and with the Bills, who waived him Monday.

Also Wednesday, the Jaguars signed journeyman guard/center Jacques McClendon and released receiver Rasheed Bailey.

The Jaguars had been looking to add depth to the offensive line after Josh Wells broke his right thumb last week. They also are without backup center/guard Luke Bowanko, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a hip injury.

The 6-foot-3, 324-pound McClendon has appeared in 25 career games with five starts since entering the league as a fourth-round draft pick by Indianapolis in 2010. McClendon also has spent time with Detroit (2011), Pittsburgh (2012), Atlanta (2013), Jacksonville (2013-14) and Miami (2015-16). During his previous tenure in Jacksonville, McClendon appeared in 18 games with five starts at guard and center.
