Antonio Cromartie's free-agent wait is over. The 32-year-old cornerback signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, whose defense has been hit hard by a rash of injuries.
Cromartie worked out with the club earlier in the day, his first such tryout since the Jets cut him in February.
Indianapolis was desperate to add depth to its secondary. Cornerback Patrick Robinson suffered a groin injury Saturday, and it appears as though Vontae Davis will miss the start of the season because of an ankle injury.
Cromartie is a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback but had a down year after returning to the Jets in 2015. The 10-year veteran was excited to hear the news.
