Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall made it back to the Final Four. Unfortunately, he was without this team.

It is still a difficult time for the Shockers, who, after getting to the Final Four last season, were undefeated until a second-round loss to Kentucky nearly two weeks ago.

"We really haven't done much basketball wise," Marshall said of the players. "They have been periodically coming into the offices, and they get back into their school work. It's a somber time.'

Marshall, who accepted The Associated Press' coach of the year award Thursday, said he hasn't even watched the 78-76 loss to Kentucky. That will have to wait — maybe until this summer.

"It's a little bit too painful right now," he said.
