Udine, Italy – Udinese has added midfielder Gelson Fernandes on loan from St Etienne until the end of the season, the club announced.
Fernandes spent the first half of this season on loan with Leicester City in England, and Udinese will have the option to make the move permanent in the summer.
The 25-year-old spent time with FC Sion and Manchester City before joining St Etienne in 2009.
He played the entire 2010-11 campaign on loan at Chievo, scoring two goals in 29 appearances, while earning over 30 caps for Switzerland in his international career.
