FC Dallas will attempt to snap an 11-match winless streak on Wednesday when the club heads to the StubHub Center for a meeting with lowly Chivas USA.

Dallas has not tasted victory in league play since May 25 when it edged the San Jose Earthquakes, 1-0, at FC Dallas Stadium.

The winless run included a five-match streak without scoring a goal, and while the club most recently fell to the Portland Timbers in a 2-1 loss at Jeld-Wen Field, head coach Schellas Hyndman still believes his side is heading in the right direction.

"I thought it was a good match," Hyndman said after the loss to Portland. "We felt good about playing here and did some nice things. It's always such a difficult place to play, with the artificial surface and the fans. I thought the goals were good goals and, even though we didn't win the game, we were pleased with our progress."

Defender Kellyn Acosta echoed Hyndman's sentiments, saying that the team feels though they are on the upswing.

"I feel like we're on the comeback," he said after the match. "We were on a scoreless drought, but the last few games we've been scoring the goals. If we continue to remain confident and continue to push forward we will earn those three points."

Mauro Diaz made just his second appearance for the club and marked the occasion with the lone goal for Dallas.

"There are positives to take," said Kenny Cooper. "We scored a great goal by a young player who continues to improve himself. Of course the score line isn't one we wanted, but we will look back at the tape and find the positives to take from tonight."

Dallas could be well-positioned to claim all three points given the fact that it is going up against last-place Chivas, which has managed just four wins all season.

The Goats are coming off of a bye week and could enjoy an improved performance after having time to regroup, but they have not won a league match since July 17.

Past meeting between the two clubs favors Chivas, though. The Goats have taken four points out of a possible six against FCD this term, earning a 3-1 victory at the StubHub Center on March 10 before getting a point from a 0-0 draw at FC Dallas Stadium on July 4.
