Evian, France – Promoted French Ligue 1 side Evian reached an agreement with Liverpool for Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen on Tuesday.
Poulsen, 31, arrived at Liverpool in 2010 after stints with Juventus, Sevilla and Schalke, but never found a role with the Premier League side.
"Liverpool FC have ... confirmed that they have reached agreement with Evian Thonon Gaillard for the transfer of Christian Poulsen," the club announced on its website. "The French side have now been given permission to talk to the Denmark international."
Poulsen and Evian will have to agree to a contract Wednesday - the last day of the transfer window - to complete the move.
