Philadelphia Eagles guard Brandon Brooks has had both a recent and past history of getting sick on game days -- missing two games this year and one each in 2015 and 2014 with the Texans -- and on Wednesday, he revealed the reason to reporters who were concerned after he missed two of the past three games.
Brooks said he suffers from anxiety that manifests itself as an obsession with football and that he's not depressed.
Brooks, who is in the first season of a five-year, $40 million contract after starting 44 games in the previous three seasons for the Texans, was open about his illness and both practiced Wednesday and intends to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
"I'm not ashamed. I'm not embarrassed," he told reporters. "It's life. I'll get through this."
