Promoted Dunfermline extended its unbeaten 0 win over Dundee United on Saturday.

Burns notched the lone goal at Tannadice Park five minutes from time off his club's only shot on goal, scoring from the edge of the area to the bottom-left corner to hand Dundee United its first loss of the young season.

Dunfermline opened the season with home draws against St. Mirren and Inverness but followed with an away win at St. Johnstone and now at Dundee United, which finished fourth in the league last season.

With eight points from four games, Dunfermline is third in the league. Dundee sits mid-table with five points.

Aberdeen 2, Inverness 1

Aberdeen, Scotland - Robert Milsom and Scott Vernon scored in the first half and Aberdeen defeated Inverness, 2-1, on Saturday at Pittodrie Stadium for its first win of the Scottish Premier League season.

Aberdeen had three defeats and a draw in its first four, but Milsom scored in the 12th minute and Vernon followed in the 27th to spark the win. Richie Foran scored after half for Inverness, which is in last place with four losses.

St. Mirren 2, Hibernian 1

Edinburgh, Scotland - Steven Thompson scored a brace in a three-minute stretch late in the first half and St. Mirren earned its fourth result of the season, 2-1, against Hibernian on Saturday at Easter Road.

Garry O'Connor scored in the 25th minute for Hibs, but Thompson scored in the 42nd and 45th as St. Mirren won for the second time in five games to go along with a pair of draws. Hibs lost for the third time in four matches.
