LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf will be sidelined for the next month while he recovers from a facial injury he suffered when struck by a puck, the team said Wednesday.

Getzlaf, 25, received nasal sinus fractures when hit during a December 28 game against the Phoenix Coyotes. Surgery will not be necessary, the Ducks said on their website (http://ducks.nhl.com).

"We weren't really sure what exactly was wrong. There were a lot of different fractures."

Getzlaf played in the Ducks' first 40 games and was their second leading scorer with 13 goals and 24 assists.
