Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes left Sunday's game against the New York Jets in the first quarter with a knee injury, and will not return.

Grimes limped off the field after pulling up in coverage on Brandon Marshall. He attempted to make the tackle as Marshall came across the field, but he went off to the sidelines after the play.

Grimes is undoubtedly the No. 1 corner on the Dolphins' roster, and without him on the field, the secondary looks much different.

On the Jets' first offensive play, Grimes was beat by Marshall for 58 yards, but the coverage was actually great. It was just a better play by Marshall.

Grimes was replaced by Jamar Taylor on the outside, and he didn't have much more success. Marshall and the Jets' wide receivers dominated the Dolphins' cornerbacks throughout the game. Losing Grimes for an extended period of time would be a huge blow for a struggling defense in Miami.
