CHICAGO – DePaul has signed shooting guard R.J. Curington of high school powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Virginia to a letter of intent.
DePaul announced he was joining the program Wednesday. He joins a recruiting class that includes guard Billy Garrett Jr. and junior college forwards Forrest Robinson and Greg Sequele.
The 6-foot-5 Curington grew up about 30 miles from Chicago in Dyer, Ind., before moving to Mouth of Wilson, Va., to play at Oak Hill. He was part of a team that went 44-0 during his junior year and 33-6 this past season.
As a senior, he had a 20-point game against Mount Zion Academy (N.C.) and had 19 points and six rebounds against Chicago's Simeon Career Academy.
