Soccer star David Beckham is set to announce he will return to the LA Galaxy next season, according to reports.

Beckham, who turns 37 in May, will confirm Thursday he has reached a deal to stay in the US, according to Sky Sports. Details of the new agreement have not been released.

The move has been widely expected for the past few weeks after Beckham turned down a lucrative offer from French club Paris Saint-Germain because he did not want to relocate his family from Los Angeles.

The former England captain led the Galaxy to the 2011 MLS Cup in the final year of his previous contract and was named the league's Comeback Player of the Year. Beckham moved to the MLS on a record five-year, $32.5 million deal in 2007.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Galaxy will allow Beckham to leave the team during the Summer Olympics if he is selected to represent Great Britain.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star was also linked to English Premier League contender Tottenham, after manager Harry Redknapp invited him to train with the team.
