INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indianapolis Colts moved running back Tyler Varga to the reserve-retired list Tuesday after initially putting him on the reserve-did not report list.

Varga, a Yale grad, played in three games in 2015, but went on season-ending injured reserve in October after being diagnosed with a concussion. The move was a surprise because Varga had participated in all of the Colts' offseason workouts after deciding to continue his career.

Coach Chuck Pagano was not available to take questions when the Colts reported to training camp at Anderson University, a Division III school about 30 miles northeast of team headquarters. Indy will hold its first practice Wednesday.

To take Varga's roster spot, Indy brought back running back Abou Toure, who signed with Indy last year as an undrafted free agent. He was waived in the first round of cuts last summer, but wound up spending time on the practice squads of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

Earlier Tuesday, Indy signed veteran tight end Chase Coffman and waived cornerback Daniel Davie.

Coffman played in 37 games with Seattle, Tennessee, Atlanta and Cincinnati.

Indy also put defensive end Henry Anderson and tight end Darion Griswold on the physically unable to perform list. Safety Clayton Geathers and tight end Mike Miller wound up on the non-football injury list.
