Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero will miss an extended period of time after suffering a calf injury in Saturday's 6-3 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens' leading scorer pulled up hurt early in the second half of Saturday's clash and was replaced by Jesus Navas in the 50th minute of play.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed his striker will miss the busy Christmas and New Year slate of games.

"I think he will be at least one month out," the Chilean boss said.

Aguero has scored 18 goals in his last 16 games for City and is set to miss Premier League clashes with Fulham, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Swansea and Newcastle, as well as Tuesday's Capital One Cup game at Leicester and the FA Cup meeting with Newcastle.

Aguero confirmed his injury via Twitter on Monday:

"It's confirmed - my calf injury will leave me out for at least a month. The good news is recovery work starts today," he said.
