San Diego, CA – San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates is active for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
Gates has not played since Week 2 because of lingering effects from the platar fascia injury he suffered last season, but was a full participant in practice on Friday after taking advantage of San Diego's bye week.
The seven-time Pro Bowler has eight catches for 74 yards this season for the Chargers (4-1), who lead the AFC West by a half game over the Oakland Raiders.
