Cespedes hits long homer, Athletics rough up Lincecum, Giants 12-5
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Yoenis Cespedes hit a long home run in the first inning as the spring struggles continued for Tim Lincecum, and the Oakland Athletics beat the San Francisco Giants 12-5 Saturday.
In Lincecum's fourth start, the two-time NL Cy Young winner gave up five earned runs and six hits while throwing 80 pitches in three-plus innings.
Lincecum walked three and struck out five, and has a 10.97 ERA this spring.
Brandon Belt hit his seventh home run this spring for the Giants.
Middle infielder Eric Sogard, making a bid for an opening day roster spot, had three hits for the A's, including a home run. He is 21 for 39 (.538).
