St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Cardinals placed pitcher day disabled list and activated outfielder day DL on Wednesday.
Lynn, who was felled by a strained left oblique, went 1-1 with a 3.12 earned run average in 18 appearances with the Cardinals this season.
Craig hasn't played since June 7 at Houston, suffering what was diagnosed originally as a right knee contusion but later downgraded to a right knee fracture when he collided with a padded railing while pursuing a foul ball off the bat of Clint Barmes.
Prior to the mishap, he was batting .336 with four home runs, 23 RBI and 16 runs scored through 40 games this season. The 27-year-old hit .244 with one homer and six RBI in 12 rehab games between Double-A and Triple-A.
In addition, St. Louis will have the services of catcher Yadier Molina, who has completed serving his five-game suspension for contact with an umpire.
