The Arizona Cardinals announced Wednesday that wide receiver Roy Green will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor at halftime of the team's Oct. 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Green, a fourth-round draft pick out of Henderson State in 1979, began his career as a return specialist but developed into a two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection as a wide receiver. He ranks second in franchise history in career touchdowns (69) and third in all-purpose yards (10,798).

Green had three 1,000-yard receiving season and finished his Cardinals career with 522 receptions for 8,496 yards. He also played in the defensive backfield, where he recorded four interceptions and recovered four fumbles.

He played his final two seasons in Philadelphia before retiring in 993. He will become the 16th member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor, and the first wide receiver.
