BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Canadian authorities investigating a Toronto sports doctor's alleged use of unapproved drugs seized a list of patient names, patient files, a calendar with football dates and more than 100 cartons of pharmaceuticals from his office before arresting him last year.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigators also listed NFL and CFL file folders and computer equipment among items taken from Dr. Anthony Galea's Institute of Sports Medicine Health and Wellness Center during an Oct. 15 search. The information is from a court filing obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press. It was first reported Monday by ESPN.com.
Galea is charged in Canada with selling Actovegin, conspiracy to import an unapproved drug, conspiracy to export a drug and smuggling. He also faces U.S. charges, including unlawful distribution of human growth hormone.
He denies any wrongdoing.
