Just when you thought the Browns' third-round selection of Terrance West in 2014 couldn't get any worse, the conditional seventh-round pick he was traded for is no more.

West was released by the Titans on Saturday, meaning that he won't reach the level of playing time required for Cleveland to get the pick. Ironically enough, West's last game as a Titan came at FirstEnergy Stadium in Week 2, when he lost a fumble in a 28-14 loss to the Browns. He had 51 yards on 16 carries with two lost fumbles in two games for Tennessee.

The Browns shipped West to the Titans just prior to the season amid questions about his maturity. West had a solid rookie season in Cleveland with 673 yards and four touchdowns on 171 carries. Cleveland had traded up to draft West in the third round, sending their fourth- and sixth-round selections to San Francisco to take West 94th overall.

Now the return on that investment is basically zero.
