Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves and outfielder Jonny Gomes have agreed to a one-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but MLB.com reported it to be worth $4 million. The deal also includes a vesting option for 2016.
Gomes split last season with Boston and Oakland, batting .234 with six homers and 37 runs batted in over 112 games. He was traded to the Athletics as part of the Jon Lester deal at the July 31 deadline.
The 34-year-old veteran owns a career average of .244 with 155 homers and 500 RBI in 1,108 games with Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, Washington, Oakland and Boston.
