The Atlanta Braves activated catcher Gerald Laird from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Todd Cunningham to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Laird was placed on the DL retroactively to July 26 after having kidney stones removed. He is batting .293 with 11 RBI over 28 games this season.

Cunningham, who was summoned from the minors on July 30, went 2-for-6 in his first six career games in the majors.
