Anaheim, CA – The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder Melky Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee strain following Thursday's road loss to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Cabrera walked to lead off the fourth, but was quickly wiped away when Jose Bautista followed with a double-play groundout to shortstop.
Cabrera apparently injured his left knee on the play, forcing Rajai Davis to take over in left field to start the home half of the fourth.
The 28-year-old outfielder entered Thursday's contest batting .280 with three home runs and 30 RBI in 87 games with the Jays.
To replace Cabrera on the roster, Toronto recalled pitcher Neil Wagner from Triple-A Buffalo.
Wagner appeared in 20 games with the Jays earlier this season and pitched to a 2-3 record with a 3.26 earned run average.
