Toronto, ON – The Toronto Blue Jays activated pitcher Brian day disabled list Monday, while designating left-hander Wil Ledezma for assignment.
The Blue Jays acquired the left-handed Tallet from St. Louis on July 27, when he was already on the DL because of a right intercostal strain. He suffered the injury while sneezing.
Tallet, who pitched for Toronto from 2006-10, had posted an 8.31 earned run average in 18 appearances for the Cardinals this season.
Ledezma gave up 10 runs in six innings during five appearances for the Blue Jays in 2011.
