Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge will miss up to two months with a thumb injury, the team announced Thursday.

Aldridge was injured in Monday's win over the Kings and sat out Wednesday's loss to the Suns. A second MRI on Thursday revealed a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb, which will require surgery.

Aldridge was likely headed to his fourth straight All-Star Game this season thanks to averaging a double-double of 23.2 points and 10.2 rebounds over his first 38 games.

His efforts have helped the Blazers jump out to a healthy lead atop the Northwest Division. They entered Thursday's games 8 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Thunder.
