Genk, Belgium – Belgian champions Genk named Mario Been its new manager Tuesday.
Been, 47, succeeds Franky Vercauteren, who left the club earlier this month to join United Arab Emirates side Al-Jazira. He started his coaching career as an assistant at Feyenoord, and was head coach at Excelsior, NEC and Feyenoord.
Genk is in Group E of the Champions League this season with Chelsea, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen.
