Stoke – on-Trent, England (Sports Network) - A hat trick from Demba Ba allowed 1 win at Stoke City on Monday, moving the Magpies into third place in the Premiership table.
Ba's first goal came in the 12th minute when he nodded home a cross from Gabriel Obertan six yards from the net, while the Senegal international scored from close range again shortly before halftime, finishing off a cross from Leon Best.
The Potters pulled a goal back from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time when Jonathan Walters converted a spot kick after Ba fouled Peter Crouch inside the area.
However, Ba answered with a successful penalty of his own five minutes later after Robert Huth pushed Best inside his own box.
Newcastle is now unbeaten in its first 10 games and sits six points back of leaders Manchester City.
Stoke has lost three of its last four games and resides in 11th place.
