Barragan inks Valencia extension

Valencia, Spain ( - Valencia announced on Monday that the club has come to terms on a new contract with defender Antonio Barragan, securing his services until June 2017.

Barragan's previous deal was set to expire this summer, but Los Che has moved to keep him at the Mestalla after a successful four-year stay.

The 27-year-old arrived at Valencia from Valladolid and he has started 17 games in La Liga this season for Valencia, which sits in fifth place, one point behind Sevilla for a spot in the Champions League.

Barragan becomes the second Valencia player to commit his future to the club in recent weeks, joining striker Paco Alcacer, who signed a new five-year contract extension last week.
