Madrid, Spain – Atletico Madrid has signed Argentina defender Daniel Diaz from rival Getafe on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old Diaz spent the last five years with Getafe, but now joins 2012 Europa League champion Atletico. He started his career with Rosario Central, and also played for Cruz Azul, Colon and Boca Juniors.
Diaz played 12 times for Argentina from 2003-09.
