Actor decked during L.A. melee

"Scream" star David Arquette tried to break up a melee at a Los Angeles Lakers game, and ended up hitting the hardwood for his efforts, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Moments after the final horn of the Lakers' playoff victory over the Phoenix Suns in Los Angeles on Monday night, a fan tried to run onto the floor of the Staples Center.

He was met by a security guard near Arquette's courtside seats, but the rowdy fan tackled the arena's muscleman.

Arquette, 38, and at least two other spectators pried the unruly fan off the security guard before reinforcements arrived.

The actor, who is also a former pro wrestler, was knocked to the ground and hit his head during the scuffle. But his rep and Staples officials said no one was injured.
