Socialist Sanders: 'I'm glad that Hillary Clinton is moving in my direction'

Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont says he's happy to see Hillary Clinton move in his direction on the Democratic presidential campaign trail.

Sanders told NBC he views Clinton's decision to reverse her positions in recent months as a welcome development, in what appeared to be a backhanded compliment highlighting the two candidates' records.

"I am delighted that in the last couple months Hillary has come on board with positions I've held for many, many years," Sanders told NBC. "I'm glad that Hillary Clinton is moving in my direction."

Asked whether he thought Clinton took actions exclusively because of political expediency, Sanders said he would let voters make that determination. He also noted that he performs better against Republican front-runner Donald Trump in some, but not all, polls than Clinton does.
