One Hollywood actress has decided to celebrate the holiday season earlier than most.
While many people are starting the 25th by unwrapping their Christmas presents, Zoe Saldana has already revealed to fans her new prized possession: a rescued pooch.
People.com recently reported that the 34-year-old starlet adopted a small white puppy just days before the holiday.
“Meet Mugsy!!! Rescued her last week–my best friend named her–ha! She’s adorable and super smart,” tweeted the “Avatar” leading lady last week with a photo of the seemingly smiling pooch sitting in the passenger’s seat of a car.
PEOPLE.com stated Saldana’s alleged relationship with actor Bradley Cooper may have inspired her to adopt a furry friend this year. The news site said she reportedly spent Thanksgiving with Cooper’s dog Charlotte, a white chow/retriever mix, who may be the other special lady in his life.
“She has to like my dogs,” said “The Hangover” star to PEOPLE back in 2009, describing his ideal girlfriend. “My dogs and I come in a package.”
While there’s no word on whether Charlotte and Mugsy became BFFs yet, Saldana did notice the outpouring of thanks from fans on the social networking site.
“Thank you all for welcoming mugsy into the twitter world,” tweeted Saldana. “I’ll keep u updated on what she’s up to! She’s so goofy! Haha.”
And in case you’re wondering, Saldana is spending Christmas with her sweetheart–and it’s not who you think.
“Glass of wine, game of apples to apples, and my mugsy by my side…heaven! Merry xmas,” said Saldana on Twitter. “Feliz Noche Buena! From our Family to yours. Happy Holidays!”
The actress is currently encouraging her Twitter followers to submit photos of how they're celebrating Christmas, with or without a pooch by their side.
