VH1 nearing deal to resurrect 'The Osbournes'

She speaks the truth! Days after Sharon Osbourne spilled the beans on "The Osbournes'" second act, The Hollywood Reporter reports that VH1 is nearing a deal to bring the series back.

"The Osbournes," which ran from 2002 to 2005, was one of MTV's biggest hits at the time and the docu-series won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program for its first season. Although Ozzy Osbourne was already famous as the frontman of Black Sabbath, as well as a solo artist, the series revealed the befuddled, doddering side of the rocker and made stars out of his manager-wife, daughter Kelly and son Jack. (The Osbournes' eldest daughter Aimee opted not to appear on the show).

However, a lot has changed for the family since then. Ozzy, who revealed in April 2013 that he had started using alcohol and drugs again for the previous year-and-a-half, is once again sober. He reunited with Black Sabbath for a new album last year. Sharon has been a co-host on "The Talk" for four years. Kelly has become a successful TV personality, most notably as a co-host on E!'s "Fashion Police" and a mainstay on the channel's red carpet coverage. Jack is now married and has a 2-year-old daughter, Pearl. He was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012.

The Osbournes most recently shared the screen on their own ill-fated variety show in 2009.

Sharon first revealed the show's return on Tuesday's episode of "The Talk." "At most there'll be only six to eight episodes and it's a catch-up on our lives and where we are now because it's been so long [since we've] been seen as a family, and our family has grown," she said. "It was all my husband's doing because he looked back on his life and he said, 'I wish we could have done 'The Osbournes' now where I'm clean and sober.'"
