Patti Smith wants to see her fans living in the moment.
The 70-year-old singer reportedly “banished” someone who held their phone front-and-center when dancers rushed the stage at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia.
According to News.com.au the singer snapped, “go take a f---ing photo over there.”
She reportedly added with a smile to the crowd, “If someone wants that spot more than you, you don’t deserve it.”
The moment took place on Monday during what’s set to possibly be one of Smith’s last shows in Australia.
The star’s doctor has reportedly suggested she avoid long air travel due to bronchial problems.
