Whoops! That could have been bad.

Mexican beauty Salma Hayek avoided a huge wardrobe malfunction when she was snapped clutching a soaking wet black strapless dress at a recent photo shoot.

She came within centimeters of suffering a major nip slip. But luckily, she successfully was able to fight the weight of her drenched dress as she stepped out of the water to cover up the ladies.

The Daily Mail has a series of shots from the photo shoot.

When Hayek is not avoiding a potentially embarrassing situation, she has dedicated herself to empowering women.

She received an award from Equality Now at the Make Equality Reality event in Beverly Hills on Monday.

“It is your choice to decide what is going to be your contribution to your lifetime in the world,” she said, accepting the award, People reported. “If it’s going to be about women, we will provide the tools so you can know what’s going on. The next step is to create a coalition of warriors who want to create war against violence and against hate.”

Hayek, 48, said that she wants to inspire her 7-year-old daughter Valentina, but she doesn’t preach to her every day on women’s empowerment.

“She’s aware that her mommy fights for rights for women, that there are many places in the world where they are not entitled to the rights,” the actress and activist told People. “She knows everything I do for Chime for Change (the women’s organization she co-founded with Beyonce) and how important it is in my life. That’s all I can do. Just try to live an example of the things I believe in.”

Despite her activism for greater gender equality, Hayek said she does not consider herself to be a feminist.

“I am not a feminist,” she said. “If men were going through the things women are going through today, I would be fighting for them with just as much passion. I believe in equality.”
