After hinting last week that she would be saying sayonara to “American Idol” and then confirming the news on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Friday, Jennifer Lopez says that it was the decision of her fellow judge Steven Tyler to leave the show which helped her make the final decision to go as well.
Lopez, who was a favorite on the popular singing competition and has been a judge for the past two years consecutively, told ABC News’ Amy Robach that it’s hard to move on because “I love them and they love me” and it was one emotional journey.
“It got me back in touch with who I was,” Lopez said. “That is why it is hard to walk away.”
With Tyler out the door and veteran judge Randy Jackson on the fence about returning, Lopez says the show might just have “a different formula.”
“We had a little bit of magic,” said Lopez, adding that she thinks “Bono, Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger" would be great replacements for the 13th season of the show.
On Monday, big timer Aretha Franklin also said she would gladly volunteer herself to be a judge on the show.

According to the publication, the iconic singer emailed CNN over the weekend informing the news organization that if asked she is up for the judging gig, being that she has been a fan of the show since the first season.
The only request Franklin had was that she wants musical star Patti LaBelle by her side also judging the amateur performers.
Other stars being considered for the show include Mariah Carey, Charlie Sheen and Adam Lambert.
