Jay Leno would rather spend time with Caitlyn Jenner than Donald Trump.
Jenner filmed an episode last weekend of the popular CNBC series “Jay Leno’s Garage.”
Season 2, which kicks off June 15, will also feature visits from Kendall Jenner, Jerry Seinfeld, Nick Cannon and Vice President Joe Biden.
“I have known Caitlyn for a long time,” Leno told FOX411. “She is still very much the same person, still very competitive.”
The pair first met during Leno’s two decade-long tenure as host of “The Tonight Show.”
Leno, who still performs more than 200 stand up dates each year, admits he doesn’t really miss the late-night gig — or the opportunity to weigh in nightly on the upcoming presidential election.
“I don’t want to interview Trump,” he said. “I came up in the era when Clinton was horny and Bush was dumb. It was a simpler, funny time. Now it is all race baiting and homophobia and Islamophobia.”
Leno said it’s harder to find the humor to with this presidential election.
“There are still plenty of jokes there, but there is an ugliness to this campaign that I don’t find attractive at all, and I really don’t want to joke about somebody saying, ‘All Muslims should be kicked out of the country or ‘because a guy is Mexican, he can’t be a judge.’ It is tricky to find the joke there.”
“Jay Leno’s Garage,” which began as a web series in 2014, offers the white-haired comic a chance to interact with celebrities while feeding his passion for restoring and reviewing vintage automobiles.
He hopes former late-night rival David Letterman will be a guest one day.
“Dave is as quirky as they come,” Leno says. “God bless him. He is having fun. When I see him, he still has that twinkle, and he still seems to be having fun with it. He doesn’t look like a depressed old guy.”
