Like many of her Hollywood counterparts, Felicity Huffman is conscious about being as eco-friendly as possible – and she’d like to see President Obama dedicate more funds and focus to support the cause.

“On a philanthropic level, we need to lessen our dependence on oil, use alternate energy sources and clean up the environment,” Huffman told Pop Tarts at the launch of the new Blackberry Torch in Los Angeles last week, after referring to the reigning President as a “poor guy” given the level of criticism of him and the problems he currently faces.

The “Desperate Housewives” star also offered some tips that the average American household can adopt in the quest to be a little more loving towards Mother Nature.

“It's small and boring, but turn off your lights when you leave the room, unplug all your kitchen appliances, reuse, recycle, reduce, and turn off the faucet before you think it’s done,” Huffman continued. “Don't leave the refrigerator door open –it’s all those small things like don't turn up your air conditioning that really make a difference.”

But model/actress Amber Valetta shared a slightly more pessimistic view of the situation.

“We're never doing enough," she said, adding that President Obama is "doing the best he can given the economy." The supermodel stressed that, "We all need to do more -- to put our dependence on the government is really unfair because we have to do more.”
