Austin Mahone ‘chilling’ without ex-girlfriend Becky G

LOS ANGELES – Austin Mahone, 19, got his start on Youtube and shot to his teen heartthrob status with his killer dance moves and pop sound. Mahone opened for Taylor Swift and has taken over the iTunes music chart with his hit “Mmm Yeah” featuring Pitbull.

Mahone caught up with FOX411 at the Teen Choice Awards, as he was nominated for Choice male hottie. Talking with us, he seemed to be in great spirits, despite recently calling it quits with singer Becky G, 18.

“I mean I’m chilling,” he said. “Just taking a break, hanging out- it’s all good.”

Becky G took to Twitter this past week saying, ““I’m happy! I’m going on TOUR!! It’s just stressful. But I promise I’m good :) love you guys.”

Most recently, Mahone released his video for his single “Dirty Work.” In it, Mahone shows a sexy new office hire around while flirting with her while cowcatchers look on.

“It was a lot of fun!” he said. “We had some weird crazy characters in there, but we had a good time filming.”

The pop star is also the latest star to be celebrated with a wax figure from Madame Tussauds. Mahone told People magazine of the figure, “It looks just like me. They really got every detail right. They took measurements for hours. Everything! How long my arms are-- the distance between my thighs, every angle of my face. They put these stickers all over my body.”

Since it is summer and it’s hot, and Mahone couldn’t resist sharing his number one summer essential, “For sure Blue Bell ice cream!”
