Acting wasn’t Carano's first passion; before becoming an actress, she was an MMA fighter from 2006-2009. She was very successful, with an almost undefeated record and competing in EliteXC and Strikeforce. In 2009, Carano retired from MMA and started her acting career.

Today, Carano is most known for her work in "Deadpool," "Haywire," "Fast & Furious 6" and for playing Cara Dune in the Disney+ Star Wars show, "The Mandalorian." Carano was on the show for two seasons before she was fired for controversial statements she made on her Instagram and Twitter accounts. The firing came after she posted on social media comparing the political divide in the United States to Nazi Germany and compared conservatives to the Jewish people.

After being removed from the show, Twitter broke out supporting both sides of the issue. Some of Carano's co-workers spoke out as well. Other films that she has been in include "Heist," "Extraction," "Kickboxer: Vengeance," "Scorched Earth" and "Madness in the Method." She also will be in the Hunter Biden biopic "My Son Hunter" and has partnered with Ben Shapiro’s "The Daily Wire" on a new project.

Carano is in a relationship with kickboxer Kevin Ross. The two started dating in 2005 but broke up a few years later. She then dated another kickboxer, Kit Cope. After that, she started dating in the Hollywood scene, and dated none other than Superman himself, aka Henry Cavill who plays Superman in various movies, including "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." These two had an on-again-off again relationship that officially ended in 2013. In 2015, she got back together with Ross.
