A Tulsa man has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and hate crime charges in the killing of his Lebanese neighbor.

Tulsa County District Court records show 61-year-old Stanley Majors entered the plea Wednesday. A judge appointed a public defender for Majors and set an Oct. 5 preliminary hearing.

Majors also pleaded not guilty to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and threatening a violent act in the Aug. 12 fatal shooting of 37-year-old Khalid Jabara.

Authorities say Majors killed Jabara after bombarding him with racial insults in a feud with Jabara's family that lasted several years.

Court records show Majors' case is the 17th since 2008 in which Tulsa County prosecutors have filed a hate crime charge.
