Four men were shot and killed in San Francisco late Friday night, authorities say.

The victims were shot around 10 p.m. in the Hayes Valley area of the city and were all dead at the scene, police spokesman Albie Esparza.

There have been no arrests made.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that city police alerted California Highway Patrol that a vehicle possibly linked to shooting could be headed toward the Pacific Coast highway. Police described the possible suspect vehicle as a newer model silver Scion.

The bullets hit at least one parked car. The officers cordoned off several blocks and canvassed the area for witnesses.

Residents heard an upward of 15 shots fired, the paper says. The gunfire was captured by ShotSpotter, the city's gunfire-detection system.
