A man in a wheelchair begging for money at a busy Miami intersection was fatally shot and police were questioning a suspect who led them on a high-speed interstate chase before crashing his car.

Miami-Dade police said Tuesday the man in custody matched the description given by shooting witnesses, although no charges were immediately filed. Neither the suspect's name nor the victim's were immediately released.

Police say the man in the wheelchair was shot along an Interstate 95 exit ramp north of downtown Miami where people regularly beg motorists for money near a stoplight. The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1pDGKq1) reported four shots were fired by a man who got out of a gray Chevrolet Impala.

Officers chased the Impala along residential streets, then onto I-95 at high speeds before the suspect's car crashed.
