Police say the bodies of a woman and two children have been recovered from a shallow creek in southern Indiana.

Maj. Keith Whitlow says the bodies were found Wednesday in New Albany. Whitlow says there are no obvious signs of foul play but that the deaths are being treated as homicides.

Whitlow, of New Albany police, told the News and Tribune of Jeffersonville that one of the children was around 2 years old and the other was an adolescent.

The victims' names have not been released.

He told The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., that more information will be released after autopsies have been conducted.

Whitlow and the Floyd County Coroner did not immediately respond to phone messages Thursday morning.

New Albany is less than a mile north of Louisville.
