Jordan Powers, 18, has moved back in with her 41 year old teacher boyfriend James Hooker.
Jordan had broken off the relationship when Hooker was arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Tammie, the girl’s mother, helped Jordan move out of the apartment they shared together. Tammie then sent her to Ohio to get her away from Hooker when he bailed out of jail, but even the distance didn’t keep them apart.
After numerous calls from Hooker, Jordan took a cab to the airport and returned to Modesto.
This happened just days before a bill was killed by the public safety committee that would make it illegal for a teacher to date an 18-year-old high school student. Many felt the bill could hurt people’s freedom of speech and they also felt it singled out teachers.
