Now that Megan Fox has moved on from her days as Mikaela Banes in Michael Bay’s “Transformers” franchise, it seems she’s ready to show us the true extent of her acting abilities. Her dream role? A Native American lesbian.

“I don’t want people to protest this, but I would like to be (Sarah) Rainmaker in ‘Gen 13 ‘ if they ever made that into a movie,” Fox, an avid comic book fan, told Pop Tarts at last week’s premiere of her new film “Jonah Hex.”

Apache born, Rainmaker is a fictional superhero from the ‘Gen 13’ comic series who bestows the superpower of manipulating weather and the movement of water with her thoughts, as well as having an innate aptitude for combat tactics. When not forced to fight supervillians, the peace-seeking activist, (who was revealed as a lesbian in the second issue of the ongoing series) spends her spare time leading protests on an array of issues, as well as preaching political correctness to her teammates.

But despite her fair complexion and light eyes, Fox is confident that physically transforming into Rainmaker is definitely do-able.

“She’s a Native American and I have a little bit of that blood in me,” she said. “It would be a bit of a stretch – but if Jake Gyllenhaal can be the Prince of Persia, I think that I can do that.”

Speaking of comics, Fox’s latest action-packed role as gun wielding ex-prostitute Lilah in “Jonah Hex,” as based on the classic Western comic book series about the post-Civil War antihero, gave the actress her first foray into firing away.

“The best part was the guns because I’ve never done that before so that was a completely new challenge and there was really not a worst part,” Fox told us. “If I had to pick I guess I would say the corset, but I personally enjoyed that – it’s just hard to kick ass when you’re laced up in something like that.”

And as most of us can only imagine, any script involving the sultry starlet giving her male counterparts the slap around, all while showing off ample cleavage and long legs in knee-high boots, is bound to cause a few concentration concerns on-set.

“(It was very distracting) in the beginning but we got over it and embraced it fully,” co-star Josh Brolin said. “She’s a scrapper, she’s definitely one of the guys and I love that.”

And despite all those reports about the 24-year-old’s unappreciative, diva antics on the set of “Transformers”, the director of “Jonah Hex,” Jimmy Hayward, made it a point to specifically acknowledge Fox’s unaffected attitude.

“Everyone was really professional and cool, and it doesn’t hurt to have Megan running around. She’s pretty cool, she gets along with everyone and is really tight with the crew,” Hayward said. “She’s a nerd, a big comic book groupie. And she loves ‘Lord of the Rings.’”

So in diversifying her resume of roles – could a Hobbit be popping up in Fox’s future?

“No!’ Hayward exclaimed. “She’s too hot for that.”
