Karlie Kloss has stepped down as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and sources say the move was in part because of her relationship with boyfriend Joshua Kushner, whom she met at a 2012 Victoria’s Secret party.
A source told The New York Post that the conservative Kushner, 29 — the successful entrepreneur behind a very private venture capital firm, and a scion of Kushner Properties — was involved with her decision not to continue being a VS lingerie model when her contract expired.
But another source close to the couple denied the claim.
The sources added that the top model turned in her Angel wings to concentrate on classes at NYU, and that the time commitment she’d need to make to VS was unrealistic.
Busy Kloss, 22, who graces Vogue’s new cover with Taylor Swift, begins classes this fall at NYU’s Gallatin School. The brainy beauty also still works with Nike, L’Oréal Paris, Joe Fresh and Kate Spade, and walked in Tom Ford’s LA fashion show on Saturday.
A rep for the couple had no comment. A VS exec told People: “It became clear she would not have the time to fulfill her myriad commitments.”
